Welcome to the New Academic Year
Dear all new and returning students,
Welcome to the 2016/2016 Academic Year. We look forward to having yet another successful year with our Economics students.
Last year, our A-Level students achieved brilliant results, where 57% of our students attained As and A*s with a 100% pass rate. These results are much better than the national average, especially in terms of As and A*s. We are confident that this years students will be able to match this or even improve on this results.
As usual, this blog will be one of the many sources of information about the department and the subject and we hope that you will visit this website frequently to keep up to date with relevant news that will be vital to your top grade in Economics.
A significant change this year will be for the new AS students - they will be the first group of students undertaking the new syllabus which will have a different examination format - the full A-Level qualification will be a linear system where to attain an A-Level grade, students will need to sit for 3 different papers at the end of the 2 years of studies i.e. in May/June 2017.
The returning A2 students will be continuing with the old system where their AS grades will carry forward (or they can resit their AS units) and they will be sitting for the Unit 3 and Unit 4 papers in June 2016.
The Economics teachers are looking forward to meeting all of you and with hard work and determination, we are sure that you will be able to attain your best results here with us at CATS Cambridge.
